Yes, This Blog Is About Paint – and Yes, It’s Kinda Revolutionary
This blog might feel like watching paint dry… but for some of us, it’s somewhat revolutionary.
We had to paint our two-bedroom renovation in record-breaking time — it was a mad dash to get the house liveable before actually moving in. (For the backstory, see our earlier post about leaving a mouldy rental.)
What We Needed:
Paint ASAP
Easy application
Relatively quick drying time
Minimal (or no) smell — especially important because we were glamping in the house while painting
We could have easily popped down to the local paint shop and picked up a fast-drying, conventional paint — job done. But we took a gamble instead. One that aligned more closely with our values.
We chose to go with Natural Paint Company, and it turned out to be one of our better decisions of the reno.
Why Natural Paint Company?
Because it stands for things we believe in:
Sustainability
Protecting rainforests
Healthier air (no VOCs = no nasties in the air we breathe)
Their service has been excellent, quick and reliable
And the gamble paid off.
Our Experience:
The paint was beautiful to work with — easy to apply with good coverage
We sprayed on two coats over primer (the second was more of a touch-up)
The enamel was used in the laundry, bathroom, and kitchen — even while we were camping in the lounge and bedrooms
The scent was mild and actually a nice scent, and gone remarkably quickly — even one of our tradies commented on the lack of "head-spinning" paint fumes
We felt good knowing we weren’t breathing in toxins
We chose Naturally White for walls and ceilings — a quick and simple decision that gave us a clean, modern finish. If we’d had more time, I might have played with bolder colours on the walls, but honestly, the result is fresh, bright, and beautifully done.
Final Thoughts:
Painting a house might seem mundane, but choosing the right paint is a meaningful decision — for your health, your home, and the environment.
We’re proud to have used a product that supports a better way of building.
And even prouder that our house smells like home — not a chemical cocktail.
This blog is our experience, not a paid advertisement in any way - we just think it is a cool company, doing cool things.
